Theresa Lewis, Ph.D.
Dr. Lewis, founder of Wake Psychological Health and Wellness, is licensed as a Psychologist and certified as a Health Services Provider by the North Carolina Psychology Board. Her meditation and yoga teacher training influences her approach blending her knowledge of science and the oneness of body and mind into her philosophy of psychological health.
Dr. Lewis specializes in providing counseling and psychological solutions for young adults, college students, and women. She is an active, solution focused psychologist who empowers clients with evidence-based treatments, and best practices of self-care. As a proponent of cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, ACT, and positive psychology, she will work with you to develop the goals, strategies and skills for the changes you seek.
Dr. Lewis enjoys working with women experiencing many issues including: adjustment and life changes, career transitions, anxiety, depression, stress, ADHD, spirituality, personal growth and self-acceptance. She is sensitive to the impact of cultural climate issues and the ways marginalization, discrimination and oppression impact individuals and systems. She has a special interest in helping women navigate the complexities of mixed heritage families and cultural identities.
In addition to providing psychological services, Dr. Lewis is an experienced consultant, trainer and supervisor. She enjoys providing consultation on career and practice matters, and providing supervision to psychologists and LPAs. To help families struggling with the transition of separation and divorce, Dr. Lewis became a trained Parenting Coordinator, so that she may assist separated and divorced parents with developing co-parenting skills and parenting plans.
